I took this while on the roof of the entrance from the previous photos, showing the step pyramid and its surrounding ruins. The necropolis contains numerous tombs from King Djoser’s dynasty, and a few from later periods. This pyramid was built around 2600 BCE and was a development of the mastaba form of tomb.
