This is the Palacio Real, or royal palace, and the square in the foreground is the Plaza de la Armeria. The palace is open to visitors on most days and offers tours of some of the very beautiful rooms within. The structure was begun in the early 18th century and continued on for 25 years. The interior reflects the tastes of Kings Carlos III and Carlos IV.
