This is the pyramid of Khafre, built during the 4th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, from about 2600 to 2100 BCE. Khafre was the son of Khufu, who built the adjacent Great Pyramid and the only one of the ancient seven wonders of the world to survive. Khafre's pyramid is the only one of the three which still has some of its original white limestone casing, show here near the top.
