Here’s another close-up of one of the statues. This one, however, as seen from David Roberts’ lithographs, was accessible to people from the sand dune which partially covered it. If one looks closely, graffiti can be seen at the statue’s base, presumably made by tourists soon after the temple’s rediscovery.
